Butterfly, Spread Your Wings! Women’s Yoga and Wild Soul Retreat

  • Tilton House Lewes Lewes Road Firle, East Sussex, BN8 6LL United Kingdom (map)

"The doors to the wild Self are few but precious. If you have a deep scar, that is a door, if you have an old, old story, that is a door. If you love the sky and the water so much you almost cannot bear it, that is a door. If you yearn for a deeper life, a full life, a sane life, that is a door.”

"The craft of questions, the craft of stories, the craft of the hands- all these are the making of something, and that something is soul. Anytime we feed soul, it guarantees increase." - Clarissa Pinkola Estes, PhD, Women Who Run With The Wolves

Do you ever feel like there's a huge gap between the way you're living now, and the life of your dreams? Do you sometimes wish you could wave a magic wand which would allow you could finally step into the liberated life you know you were meant to lead? Are you even confused as to what your true purpose is?

Come and get WILD with us in deep Sussex and free your wild soul! With practices of yoga, meditation, led journaling, self-enquiry, deep rest, nutritious food, communing with nature and with female company, we give our true female natures the chance to speak and manifest. In cocooning and retreating, we give our butterfly natures the opportunity to emerge, unfurl their wings and take flight!

This inspiring venue, Tilton House, was the home of John Maynard Keynes, influential liberal economist and member of bohemian Bloomsbury Group, who lived in a colourful community of artists and intellectuals just down the lane at Charleston farmhouse, well worth a stroll to and a visit (it’s open to the public). Keynes moved to Tilton House when he married his beloved wife, ballerina Lydia Lopokova. Lydia’s nickname was the ‘Bloomsbury Butterfly’, and there remain many photographs of her around the inspiring home she and Keynes created. Their energies and great love are still very much in evidence at Tilton House, and their inspiration of living the life that truly expresses your soul purpose is the inspiration for this retreat.

We will be surrounded by the beautiful nature of the South Downs, and, in addition to twice-daily yoga opening ourselves to ourselves, our true natures, there will be plenty opportunity to walk and meditate in nature, alone or in groups, or simply find one of the many charming benches, seats and hammocks to rest and commune with nature. Yoga is in the setting of the wild forest yurt, and is energising in the morning before breakfast, and restorative/yin in the evenings, before dinner.

Three meals a day are included, and the food at Tilton House is gorgeous vegetarian. Vegan, gluten-free and other specific dietary needs can also be catered for deliciously on request. Wine is available with dinner (although is not included in the retreat price). Dining will be outside whenever the weather permits, either in the elegant walled courtyard, or on a table on the lawn.

Accommodation at Tilton House is in charming, individually-decorated rooms ranging through single and twin with shared bathroom to double with ensuite.

When you arrive, you will have a welcome gift bag of goodies specially selected for you by Donna, including a gorgeous butterfly shawl!

The investment starts at £480 for the three days for a single room or shared double or twin or triple room. There is a £100 supplement for single occupation of a double or twin room.
